New Year’s Eve at the Mt. Shasta Ski Park
New Years Eve festivities at the Mt. Shasta Ski Park will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Ski Park with fireworks, extended night skiing and fun for the kids. There will be live music by the Billie’s, the torchlight parade you can participate in, glow stick parade for the kids (they can get glow sticks, necklaces and bracelets), party favors and skiing from 3pm until 11:30 for just $16. To top it all off, a prime rib dinner with all the trimmings will be served up.
It’s also a great time of year to take to the slopes at the Ski Park - snow is falling as I type so it looks like the slopes will be in great shape for the holiday season. Plus, the Park will have live music in the lounge on Fridays and Saturdays from 4-7pm during the holidays.
January is Learn a Snow Sport Month, so the Ski Park will be offering specials on Learn to Ski and Learn to Board packages. You’ll find private and group lessons for kids and adults to get you started.
If you’re an experienced skier or ride, the Park is offering Backcountry - Beyond the Boundaries. This season the Ski Park teamed up with Shasta Mountain Guides to offer guided backcountry ski and snowboarder excursions from the resort. Guides will take you “Beyond the Boundaries” into the best of the best untracked stashes of powder in open glades, tucked away chutes, or through a giant moss covered old growth forest.
The views from the new backcountry warming hut and surrounding terrain is unprecedented. Best of all, you will be touring in the shadow of the awe inspiring and majestic Mt. Shasta.
There is plenty going on at the Mt. Shasta Ski Park - so get there and check it out. With the addition of a new parking lot over the summer, the Park can accommodate even more winter enthusiasts. If you’re looking for lodging options, check out the Mt. Shasta Chamber of Commerce and McCloud Chamber of Commerce for a list of area lodging. The Ski Park also has a few deals up its sleeve, with its Ski and Stay partners special offers.
